Leif Eriksson has worked in the fields of migration management, asylum/refugees, family reunification, visit visas, deportation and resettlement.
His employers have been, among other, the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Ministry of Justice.
At the Swedish Migration Agency Leif Eriksson has mainly dealt with issues pertaining to asylum and the Middle East, Schengen and the Dublin Convention/Dublin Regulation.
Leif Eriksson was the Migration Attaché and the head of the migration section at the Swedish Embassy in Damascus, Syria, between 2005 – 2008 and Consul and head of the section for immigration, consular affairs and administration at the Swedish Consulate General in Jerusalem 2012 – 2013.
He served as resettlement consultant at UNHCR in Damascus 2008 – 2009 and associate RSD/RST officer in Beirut 2013 – 2014.
He is currently living in Tbilisi, Georgia.
